The lead up to dinner often felt insurmountable. The mind is still reeling from the day while there are cute but exhausting children quickly descending into hangriness.
I wanted…
-
…fresh home cooking, with no additives, preservatives, and all that extra salt.
-
…protein and (hidden) vegetables. Yes it’s good for them to see vegetables, but some needs to also go in those tummies.
-
…to not mind finishing up leftovers myself. Better yet, for the grown ups to just eat the same thing.
I did not have the time, energy, and mental space to make all that happen. Nothing out there ticked all the boxes.
And so Pippin was born.
The struggle is real

How It Works
Pippin does the hard work

We design recipes with families in mind
How much lentil (fiber! Iron! Gut health!) is too much before the kids detect them and won't eat anymore? Are we flying too close to the sun with just a few more carrots added?
We design and test recipes balancing kid-approval with nutrition while aiming for adult-level deliciousness. Though temper those complex tastebud expectations — there probably won’t be any truffle oils in our recipes.
Everything is cooked from scratch...
We chop, sauté, and simmer (for a long time) using real ingredients found in home pantries, and cook the way you would, although with a larger pot.
...then flash frozen into blocks for easy use
Everything is flash frozen right after cooking to seal in freshness. We do it in blocks so you can better control how much to use.
You put together a meal with simple last steps
01
Choose your portion and heat
One or two blocks for little tummies. Three for bigger appetites. Four or more for adults. Heat from frozen on the stove or in the microwave.
Cook your base
02
Pasta, rice, toast. Whatever is being accepted that evening (by kids and growups alike).
Add some (entirely optional) jazz
03
Some grated cheese? Or some fresh chopped herbs. Or eat as is.

Adaptable to your family
Food is personal and evenings are messy. Sometimes there are two mouths to feed, sometimes five. Dad likes to add Tabasco to everything and William won't touch anything green (true story). Sometimes it's cheese pizza or bust.
We get it.
Pippin is designed to be flexible and slot into your week, not take over it (unless you want it to). Whether it's two nights a week, or five — Pippin is ready in your freezer.
